12 hours later............

March 10, 2010

Hughy was a star!  He felt so good today.

Jedi was not to happy to see me.  Supple is the name of the game........

Goldie and I are still hashing out our working relationship.  He would rather do tricks, then move forward on my aids.  Every time we go across the diagonal I get a line of one's!  What a great problem to have!!

Jewel was a peach.  She is starting to stretch forward down and out.  The canter today felt pretty good.  Either it's the new shows or the work is paying off.

Donny is slowly coming back to work after a few days off after the show.  He is not a horse that needs a day off!  He is a little sassy!

Callie on Fasching and I on Wellie had a good walk out in the fog!!  It was alot of fun.

Becky had a little tune up today.  She was pretty sassy too.

Fi was another long lesson.  Callie first rode and then I worked out the kinks.  She was better than last week.  But we have a bit of work to do!

Ponies got of easy today................

March 9, 2010

Since Collin was here and I like to hold horses while he works on them to discuss the way they are moving or how their feet are growing, I only lunged the ponies today.  So, they had it easy.  Which is a-ok, since they work hard 5-6 days a week.

Just call me.................

March 8, 2010

Please do not just show up at the barn.  I could not believe all the people who stopped by without picking up the phone to let me know that they were stopping by.  It's my day off and I was working around the farm.  Hoses were out, shop door open, and tools were out.  I like to set up appointments so that I may put my best foot forward or have the barn looking smashing as well as to prepare for your arrival.  I take pride in my work and in my farm looking clean and effictent.  It was not clean as we were making repairs.

Please just pick up the phone or make an appointment by e-mail.  It is great appericated!

Take a breath

March 7, 2010

Today was much easier than yesterday.  I still had a number of horses to worked, but it wasn't as hectic.

Jedi was pooped today!  But we still worked on at least a thousand 10 meters and counter flexions to help Jed with bending and acceting the outside rein.  I am thinking that little Jed may need some chiro work or a massage.

I had an eye opening ride on Goldie.  There was a bag of shavings in the aisle that wasn't there.  Goldie almost lost it and then Matt was walking back and forth and next Callie brought on Fi in the aisle.  The poor horse could not focus on anything.  So, I had Matt sitt down.  I worked on tempo transition until I could get him to focus on me as well as t-c-t transitions.  I finally did get a few transitions, but I need to make sure he is in fun of my leg and through.  We are a work in progress.

Fi was next.  We the tough get going, the tough focus on hind end.  Fi has a connction problem as well as a fitness problem.  We can only focus on one thing at a time and we...

Organized Choas!

March 6, 2010

Oxymornon, right?  Well, that's my day. We have a full barn and the horse definitely keep me out of trouble.  Thank goddness that Matt was there to keep me on schedule.

Goldie was a good boy.  We worked on throughness and suppleness.  Not as easy as one would think.  He was rather stiff and it was hard to gain access to his topline.  We will keep working to improve our working relationship.  I also think that he maybe tired from his long trip.

Donny was a bit naughty.  He definitely does not need any time off.  And he had days off after the show due to my trip to CO.  Working on submission and neck control...................  I love you Donny!

Jedi is missing his mother, Angela, who sadly has been sick.  So he has gotten me!  :)  And he is not impressed.  We are working on straightness as he throws his shoulder out in either direction, next suppleness in his neck, and submission through the outside rein.  Ick!  He likes to wag his head or hang on my head.  Oh, Jed, you can do it!

Jewel had hit a plateau in the canter.  But I keep working on it with her.  She currently runs like a bat out...

Another day of lessons...........

March 5, 2010

It was also the first day to sit on Goldie at home!  He was a star.  Lucky me, that Callie wanted to groom horses for me.  ;)  Thank you, Callie!  I did not have to work until midnight. hehehe

Poor Fi, I thought that we would try some cavaletti.  She was not having any of it!  But after an hour, she did go over the poles, but not the way I wanted her too!  She was way to uptight about it.  Well, it's time to change my approach.

Sarah had a great lesson on Becky.  We are working on her position and building her stamina on the lungeline.  She also works on riding with no hands!  You go girl!  She also learn what posting is and how to change it.

Tami had a lesson on Boo.  We worked on flying lead changes.  Boo must become more responsive to the leg and Tami needs to become more clear and determined to give the aid in order for the change to be clean.  We also worked on half pass..........More Bend! Get your ggrrr on!

Callie had a lesson on Wellie for the first time.  We worked on adjustablity.  Wellie is so great...
